Packaging
We use a specially designed packaging process to ensure that your mantel or mantel shelf arrives in good shape, ready for installation. It costs a bit more for us to do it this way, but we've found the results well worth it. Continue reading below for a full explanation of the process stages.

Parts
Figure 1: The parts associated with the Builder Kit Prestige mantel. All of our mantel shelves are packaged in the same manner but since there are no columns associated with those products we can ship them in one box rather than two.
Box One
Figure 2: The first of two boxes used in shipping a mantel. High-density styrofoam pieces are placed in the ends of the box. The mantel base wrap, crown molding, and decorative pieces are placed in the box and wrapped in a plastic liner.
Box Two
Figure 3: The second box contains the mantel legs and the faceplate, again set
on high density styrofoam and wrapped in a plastic liner.
Plastic Liner
Figure 4: The mantel pieces are wrapped in protective plastic.
High-Density Foam
Figure 5: The final stage of our packaging process is to fill the remaining space
of the boxes with industrial-strength high density foam that expands to fill
the space inside the box and which provides protection from the normal hazards
of FedEx ground shipping. Admittedly, some think we go overboard on the packaging
and it can be a workout removing the mantel from the boxbut we think you'll
appreciate the fact that your mantel is delivered intact.
